Faiz Hilaly

Founder, CEO

Faiz is a current junior at Menlo High School, with a passion for coding and tech education. Ever since his introduction to computer science in middle school, he has expanded his interest in CS across multiple languages, including JavaScript, Python, and Swift. As a high school student, he took AP Computer Science A as a freshman, and is currently taking Post AP Computer Science with Data Structures. On top of that, he is a member of his school’s Model UN club, and played soccer on his school team. Outside of school, Faiz spent 2 years teaching both Intro to Code, and Game Development classes to 3rd, 4th, and 5th grade students in the Ravenswood District. In December of 2019, he decided to set out on his own venture and founded Launch Coders: a non-profit organization aimed at increasing accessibility to computer science education in the Bay Area. Through this organization Faiz hopes to bring opportunity to children with a passion for learning, and ultimately use education as a vehicle to address many of the social issues that face our Bay Area community today.
